Welcome to Our CoolSculpting Center of Excellence!
Our practice has been chosen, among only a handful of practices from all over the United States, as a CoolSculpting Center of Excellence. We are the most experienced center in Florida and have performed the largest number of CoolSculpting treatments in all of the state.
Our practice is also affiliated with the Inventor of CoolSculpting, Dr. Dieter Manstein, MD, Ph.D., who continues his association with the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Dermatology.
We are proud to have a center dedicated exclusively to the CoolSculpting procedure, with full time board certified dermatologists and registered nurses in charge of performing the evaluation and treatment of our patients.
We are also the center with the highest availability and competitiveness for this procedure. Our center counts with three separate machines and a total of nine CoolSculpting applicators. This allows us to provide treatment to the growing number of patients who opt to have CoolSculpting as a completely non-invasive and effective method for permanent fat removal.
We invite you to come to our center for professional medical care and to receive a First Class CoolSculpting Experience!
February 2010: Bowes Dermatology Group is one of the first practices in the U.S. to offer CoolSculpting, a new, revolutionary, non-invasive method to battle the bulge. The procedure is based on the concept of Cryolipolysis, developed by Drs. Dieter Manstein and Rox Anderson at the Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School.
What is the
CoolSculpting Procedure?
The CoolSculpting Procedure is a new, non-invasive way to gently and effectively reduce fat in targeted areas of your body, resulting in noticeable, natural-looking fat reduction in the treated areas. What makes the CoolSculpting Procedure different is its advanced cooling technology that targets and eliminates fat cells. Unlike traditional invasive surgical procedures, the CoolSculpting Procedure is non-invasive, with no needles and no incisions. There is no need for anesthesia and there is no recovery time. The procedure is performed in a medical office, under the supervision of a physician specializing in cosmetic procedures. The CoolSculpting Procedure for non-invasive fat layer reduction is available in the U.S, Canada, the European Union and other international markets. The CoolSculpting device is also cleared by the FDA in the United States fornon-invasive fat layer reduction.
How does the CoolSculpting Procedure work?
The CoolSculpting Procedure works by means of a scientific principle called "Cryolipolysis™ invented by Drs. Manstein and Anderson at Harvard Medical School." During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells in specific areas of your body. When fat cells are exposed to cooling during the CoolSculpting Procedure, it triggers a process of natural removal, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer. The result is a reduction in fat bulges that is visible in most patients in two to four months.
Is there downtime after the CoolSculpting Procedure?
There could be mild bruising in some patients, but there is no recovery time after the Procedure. You may resume your normal activities on the same day as your procedure, including work and exercise.
Will I benefit from additional CoolSculpting Procedures?
A follow-up visit should be scheduled with your doctor two to four months after your procedure to assess your cosmetic improvement and consider whether you can achieve greater fat reduction from additional CoolSculpting Procedures.
Am I a good candidate for the CoolSculpting Procedure?
Ideal candidates for the CoolSculpting Procedure are within their normal range of body weight, but have fat bulges that are not easily reduced through diet and exercise. They are seeking spot reduction for specific areas of fat, but are not considering a surgical procedure. The CoolSculpting Procedure is not a way to lose weight or treat obesity, and it is not a substitute for invasive methods like liposuction. During a consultation, your doctor can talk with you about whether you are a good candidate for the CoolSculpting Procedure.
