Dr. Agabegi grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Temple University. He then attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He then completed a spine surgery fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. After completing his fellowship, he returned to the Cincinnati area and has been practicing at UC Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center ever since.
Dr. Agabegi treats all conditions of the spine, from the most straightforward problems to the most complex spinal deformities. He has special expertise in treating
complex spinal deformities in adults and adolescents, including scoliosis, kyphosis, flatback deformity and severe spondylolisthesis.
Dr. Agabegi is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His professional affiliations include the Scoliosis Research Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and North American Spine Society.

Steven Agabegi, MD is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the management of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disorders. His interests include the management of complex spine conditions including spinal deformity (scoliosis, kyphosis, and flatback deformity), complex spine reconstructions, degenerative spine disorders, revision surgery, tumors and trauma. Dr. Agabegi is an expertise in the treatment of specific spine conditions such as scoliosis, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, spondylolisthesis, and kyphosis.
