Dr. Alexander received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Carolina.
He then travelled abroad to learn from renowned experts in the fields of shoulder and hand surgery. This included time with Dr. Christian Gerber in Zurich, Switzerland; Dr. Gilles Walch in Lyon, France; and Dr. Marc Garcia-Elias in Barcelona, Spain. To broaden his pediatric experience, he then spent three months with Dr. Marybeth Ezaki at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, TX. He completed his specialty training with a year-long fellowship in hand, shoulder and elbow surgery at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.
Following that, he joined his current practice with Georgia Hand, Shoulder and Elbow in Atlanta, GA. He has been with the practice for ten years and has enjoyed being part of a true center of excellence.
Dr. Alexander is Board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. He is a Clinical Adjunct Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory University.

He is actively involved in medical societies at the local, state, and national level. He is the current president of the Georgia Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Often we employ advanced techniques in wrist, elbow, and shoulder arthroscopy to provide minimally invasive surgical care We operate Georgia Surgical Center on Peachtree, an ambulatory surgical center licensed by the State of Georgia, certified by Medicare and AAHC.
