Orthopaedic Surgeon
Hip & Knee Surgery

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon providing sub specialist orthopaedic care for orthopaedic conditions in adults. I would like to acquaint you with information on common conditions, surgeries & procedures involving hip and knee.
My website features web movies on Knee Arthroscopy, Total Knee Replacement (TKR), Total Hip Replacement (THR), Hip Resurfacing, Unicondylar Knee Replacement, ACL reconstruction, Revision Hip and Knee Joint Replacements, Hip & Knee Joint Anatomy and some common conditions affecting the hip and knee joints. The aim is to educate you on your condition and any recommended surgery. It allows you to make a more informed decision on your proposed surgery.
I hope you find the information helpful in understanding your condition and recommended treatment.
Please note that the information in this website is an educational resource, and should not be used for decisions about any treatment or surgery. All such decisions must be made in consultation with a surgeon or your healthcare provider.
May I introduce myself as a specialist doctor, committed to providing my patients with the highest standard of care in my chosen specialty - Orthopaedic Surgery. My special interest is in Hip and Knee Surgery, including Joint Replacements and Arthroscopic Surgery.
My practice is based at Wahroonga in Sydney's north. Patients are made welcome at my comfortable office suite, conveniently located in the Wahroonga Village, with free parking readily available nearby and the railway station opposite.
Patients needing surgery are looked after at Sydney Adventist Hospital ("The San"). There are excellent Rehabilitation hospitals in the vicinity, where patients are helped to regain their independence after orthopaedic operations. I live in the area and am able to provide close supervision of the orthopaedic care of my patients at all times.
Practice Information
I am a solo, fully independent hip and knee specialist with only one priority - to provide the highest quality of care to my patients.
Every patient is an individual and is treated as such. I will choose from a variety of surgical techniques and joint prostheses so as to achieve for each patient the best result in as safe a manner as possible.
Your consultation will not be hurried, there is no production line. You will meet one doctor - your surgeon. As your surgeon, I will carry out your operation "skin to skin" not an assistant.
Post-operatively I am available to monitor and supervise your recovery in the hospital, the rehab hospital and after discharge. Patients are always welcome to call with any enquires or concerns before or after surgery.
You may notice I ask you questions which seem unrelated to your "orthopaedic" problem. So as to advise you properly, I need to know about your general health, occupation, and usual activities or lifestyle. This information all assists in the choice of the best treatment - for you.
Your family doctor is a vital link, in looking after you as a whole, and co-ordinating the activities of specialists such as myself. I respect the views of your doctor. I will communicate with your doctor and your other specialists as needed.
If I detect a problem of a non-orthopaedic nature I will let you know and suggest appropriate referral, in consultation with your GP.
Surgery is carried out with a dedicated team: a highly skilled Anaesthetist, an experienced Assistant Surgeon, and specialised Theatre Nurses who are well versed in the complex equipment used. This allows a consistent and safe performance of surgical procedures.
