Dr. Brendan Klar, Lower Limb Reconstructive Surgeon Deakin Canberra



Dr Klar is a graduate of the University of Queensland. After initially working in Queensland he moved to Sydney to commence his advanced orthopaedic training.

After successfully completing his orthopaedic training in 2002, he went on to complete two post-graduate fellowships in orthopaedic surgery. The first was as a fellow for the Canberra Orthopaedic Group specialising in arthroscopic and knee surgery. The second was an international fellowship in surgery of the foot and ankle, Toronto, Canada.

Dr Klar is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and a member of the Australasian Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society.

Dr Klar specialises in surgery of the hip, knee, foot and ankle. He also has a special interest in complex trauma of the lower limb including Ilizarov and Taylor Spatial Frame surgery.

Dr Klar works at Canberra Hospital on the on-call trauma roster and sees public patients requiring elective surgery at his clinic at Canberra Hospital. He sees private patients in his rooms in Deakin and he operates privately at Calvary John James Hospital, National Capital Private Hospital and Capital Specialist Surgical Centre
