Dr. Kashyap is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist practising in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Background and Training

Graduating in medicine from Monash University in 1989, he commenced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1995 at the Royal Women’s Hospital, continuing his training at the National Maternity Hospital in Holles St, Dublin, and at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, Victoria. Dr. Kashyap commenced private practice after receiving his specialist qualifications in April 2001.

Dr. Kashyap offers a full range of obstetric care including VBAC (vaginal birth after previous caesarean) and vaginal delivery of twins. You can be secure that if complications arise requiring admission at a tertiary hospital he will continue your care at Jessie MacPherson Private Hospital. He also offers general gynaecology care including laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Kashyap was on the organising committee of the RANZCOG conference in Melbourne and also lectures and mentors Monash University students.

Having managed thousands of pregnancies, ranging from normal to extremely complicated, Dr. Kashyap continues to maintain a commitment at Monash Medical Centre as the Topaz Obstetric Unit team leader. As part of his commitment to promoting vaginal birth he has run the ECV (External Cephalic Version) clinic at Monash for the last 10 years. He is a consultant to the Victorian PERS (perinatal emergency referral service).

Patients who choose full private care are seen by their chosen obstetrician over 90% of the time. This obstetrician will then manage their labour and delivery any time, day or night, including weekends and public holidays. Dr Surya Krishnan is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in private practice in Sydney. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women, Prince of Wales Private Hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

Dr Krishnan graduated from the University of New South Wales medical school and following additional training, received his specialist qualification FRANZCOG. He was also awarded the Masters of Surgery (MS) from Sydney University on his work in Gynae-Endoscopic Surgery. He spent a significant amount of time undergoing further training in complex pelvic endoscopic surgery (endogynaecology) in USA, France, and in Sydney. He was also a visiting fellow to an advanced endoscopic cancer centre in India undergoing further training in endoscopic oncology pelvic surgery.

In Obstetrics, his interest includes both low and high risk obstetrics and in addition high risk obstetric surgery. Dr Krishnan has gained much experience in caring for women with multiple pregnancies, advanced maternal age, underlying medical conditions and also post IVF pregnancies.

In addition to general Gynaecology, Dr Krishnan performs complex endoscopic reproductive surgery for infertility, endometriosis, fibroids and chronic pelvic pain. He also performs advanced laparoscopic and vaginal surgeries for prolapse, incontinence and hysterectomies.

Dr Krishnan is an associate for Sydney Urodynamics Group throughout Sydney and has participated in running workshops and lectures in Sydney and overseas for OBGYN in training. In addition to this he is also a surgical supervisor for registrars and senior endogynaecology fellow at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.

When not working, his interest includes chasing after his two young children and teaching them to ride the scooter. Dr Krishnan speaks fluent Mandarin and Indonesian.

Dr Alex Polyakov is a Fertility Specialist, and a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist at Epworth Freemasons hospital, St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Frances Perry House, Royal Women’s Hospital and Melbourne IVF.

After graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2000, Alex completed his internship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital before moving back to Melbourne to start his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He trained at various hospitals, including Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Box Hill Hospital, and completed formal fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Reproductive Biology Unit of the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne IVF and Monash IVF. His mentors include pioneers in diverse areas of women’s health including A/Prof John McBain, Dr Mark Lawrence, Dr Andrew Spiers, Prof Beverly Vollenhoven, and Dr Michael Gronow among others.

Dr Polyakov has earned his reputation as a highly regarded Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon. He is oneof very few specialists in Melbourne who performs majority of gynecological and fertility-related procedures including myomectomies (removal of fibroids) and hysterectomies (removal of uterus) via minimally invasive laparoscopic (“keyhole”) surgery.

Dr Blumenthal is an experienced Obstetrician & Gynaecologist practicing in the North Western Suburbs of Sydney.

After studying medicine at the University of Witwatersrand, he qualified in 1975. He then specialized in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and became a Fellow of the South African College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FCOG-SA) in 1981. The same year, Dr Blumenthal was made a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) in England.

He immigrated to Sydney in 1982 and, after working at Westmead Hospital as the senior Fellow for 3 years, Dr Blumenthal became a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).

Since his election to the Fellowship, he was appointed as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) to Blacktown Hospital and an Affiliate at Westmead Hospital. Dr Blumenthal has also practiced as a consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at The Hills Private Hospital and The Sydney Adventist Hospital.

During his training and subsequent years, he has had subspecialty interests in laparoscopic surgery, where he trained with Professor Bruhat in France and Dr Ray Gary in England. Dr Blumenthal is currently a foundation member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES). He is also a member of the Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ACCP) and the Australian Menopause Society (AMS).

Dr Blumenthal is a Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Notre Dame and University of Western Sydney. He is also an Examiner for the Fellowship exam of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Nowadays, Dr Blumenthal focuses his Gynaecological and Obstetrical expertise on the following Obstetrics & Gynaecology fields:

I was born in Ukraine in 1975 and have grown up in Melbourne since 1988. I attended McKinnon and Melbourne High Schools and graduated from Monash University.
