Tim A. Sayed, MD, FACS - Tranquility Aesthetic Surgery Specialist, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Dr. Tim A. Sayed

Dr. Tim A. Sayed is a double board-certified plastic surgeon who has been practicing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in South Florida for nearly a decade. He is highly skilled in all forms of cosmetic surgery, including breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, rhinoplasty, facelift, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), tummy tuck, vaginal rejuvenation, liposuction and body contouring operations. Patients seeking artistry in cosmetic surgery in South Florida need look no further. South Florida is the mecca of cosmetic surgery, where patients can enjoy year-round sunshine as they recover from cosmetic surgery in a private tropical paradise. Whether interested in a "Mommy Makeover," a "nose job," Botox or Juvederm injections, a coveted "Brazilian Butt lift," or excellence in breast implant surgery, Dr. Sayed has the training, credentials, creativity, integrity, ethics and diligence to meet and exceed your expectations of a plastic surgeon. He has offered cosmetic surgery to patients in Palm Beach County and Broward County, from Miami to Jupiter, West Palm Beach to Wellington, and now is based centrally in Fort Lauderdale to provide cosmetic surgery services to all of South Florida. International and out-of-town plastic surgery patients can enjoy recovery in a number of elegant hotel and resort facilities and enjoy the benefits of medical tourism while under the care of a highly regarded plastic surgeon. Double board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Sayed is also a leader in local and national plastic surgical organizations, a physician entrepreneur, a working musician, and a student of many disciplines. First and foremost, though, he is a dedicated and committed physician of the highest order.

From a young age, Dr. Sayed has excelled among his peers. After graduating valedictorian of the largest graduating high school class in the state of Texas, he undertook studies in electrical engineering and computer science at Berkeley, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Highest Honors. He then pursued his childhood dream of becoming a surgeon and graduated as one of the top students in his class at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine – an entering class that was rated #1 for student selectivity in the U.S. News and World Report rankings of medical schools. He achieved membership in the exclusive Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, an honor bestowed on only the top 15% of medical students. He then completed the rigorous general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School's oldest and most renowned teaching hospital: Massachusetts General Hospital, currently ranked as the #1 hospital in the United States in US News and World Report. To complete his training, he returned to UC San Francisco for plastic surgery residency, where he learned from internationally recognized leaders like Dr. Stephen Mathes, who wrote the book (literally) on complex reconstructive surgery; Dr. Harry Buncke, who invented microsurgery; Dr. Ronald Gruber, one of the world's preeminent rhinoplasty experts, and others. In his training and practice, he has performed complex reconstruction, wound care, and breast reconstruction on hundreds of patients, all of which experience contributed to honing his cosmetic surgical skills. He has built a strong reputation in Palm Beach for breast surgery, facelifts, tummy tucks, and rhinoplasty, and is a sought-after expert in revision breast surgery.

Dr. Sayed recognizes that looks matter. He recognizes that people want to look and feel their best. As an Executive MBA student of business in the prestigious Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, he understands that an investment in cosmetic surgery is just that: an investment. Patients and their families work hard and rightfully expect high quality service and results for their investment in aesthetic surgery. He and his staff respect patients' time, finances and family needs and will work with patients to provide a great experience for all involved. Dr. Sayed's patient clientele and professional network includes celebrities, pro athletes, business leaders, political figures, and other prominent individuals, but in his eyes and hands, all patients are VIP's. He has treated cosmetic surgery patients from Florida, New York, California, Texas, the UK, the Middle East, and, of course, Central America and South America. Great plastic surgery is worth traveling for.

A perfectionist by nature, Dr. Sayed keeps up to date on the latest plastic surgery technologies to offer state-of-the-art techniques and results to his patients. He regularly attends continuing medical education courses to remain current on leading technologies and procedures.

Here are just a few examples of Dr. Sayed's dedication to his craft and his commitment to excellence: Dr. Sayed is a regular professional expert in radio, print and television journalism pieces and has served on medical advisory boards for breast cancer multidisciplinary centers. He serves as a consultant to KCI and LifeCell (makers of Alloderm and Strattice products used in breast reconstruction and revision breast surgery) and is on the speakers' bureau of both companies. As an innovator, he was recently recruited by Modernizing Medicine, the fastest-growing startup in South Florida, to head the development of its groundbreaking EMA electronic medical record system for the plastic surgery specialty. He is on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County Medical Society, participating on the Educational Council and Membership Committee and serving as Chair of the Young Physicians Section. He also has served as a member of the Product Advisory, Emerging Trends, Public Education, Leadership Development and Young Plastic Surgeons committees with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). He has served as Medical Director of the JFK Wound Management Center, as a delegate to the Florida Medical Association caucus, and as Chief Medical Officer of Premed Network, an online startup social network for premedical students. Dr. Sayed is also a committed surgical educator, having served on the faculties of the University of Vermont and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, teaching students and residents about plastic surgery. He has published works that include medical student guides and peer-reviewed journal articles. Additional professional memberships include the Palm Beach County Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Massachusetts General Hospital Surgical Society.

Dr. Sayed has been honored by the Patient's Choice Award, Consumer's Guide to America's Top Plastic Surgeons, and Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care, among numerous professional accolades.

In the end, though, plastic surgeons must also demonstrate not only intelligence and academic success, but worldliness, artistry and a keen eye for balance and proportion. Getting plastic surgery is like a personal renaissance, and who wants a bookworm for a surgeon when you can have a surgeon who is driven to be a true Renaissance Man? A world traveler, Dr. Sayed speaks English, German, and Arabic, and is getting better at Spanish every day, after which he intends to tackle French…. He has been artistic since he first learned to play piano at age 6, and in his free time, he continues to play music as both a solo performer and in his rock band, 1 Flight Down. He records original and cover music in his home studio and some of these recordings can be found at www.soundcloud.com/acousticneuroma.

A popular choice for plastic surgery interviews with the media, Dr. Sayed has also appeared on TV's Jeopardy!, where he was a 3-time champion. Media inquiries may be directed to Dr. Sayed on the Media page.

Beyond Imaging - Diagnostic Consulting Center, Cockburn Central, WA

Beyond Imaging

    Diagnostic Consulting

"Beyond Imaging" is a unique concept in patient care conceived by Radiologist Dr. Luke Matar which grew out of his dissatisfaction with the limitations of traditional “Imaging practices” which did not allow him time to offer patients the very best in care. Work pressures and financial imperatives simply did not allow for the time to consult patients, advise them of what the imaging results meant, what treatment options were available (beyond those usually ordered by referring doctors) and what would best suit their individual circumstances.
Dr. Matar decided that there must be a better way to utilize his skills to help patients achieve better outcomes. "Beyond Imaging" allows him to offer diagnostic consultancy services, interventional pain management, sports medicine treatments, and also provide a growing number of new and novel treatments not available at most imaging centres. All through his affiliated business "The Vein Clinic" is also available to offer non surgical treatment of varicose veins.
Through 'Beyond Imaging' Dr Matar is also able to offer a diagnostic consultancy service for patients wishing to discuss imaging findings and what they mean as well as discuss treatment options prior to a procedure. This referral avenue also allows him to follow up the results of treatment and recommend or arrange for further investigations (such as MRI/bone scan) or referral to other appropriate specialists and allied health professionals.
Dr. Matar works in conjunction with Western Radiology and Imaging Central where he also provides reporting services. These businesses are new, modern, progressive and independently owned. They provide a venue that enables him to offer patients the best facilities for their interventions in a warm friendly, caring and non - rushed environment.
Dr. Matar has literally performed thousands of ultrasounds and CT guided interventional procedures and offers a wide range of procedures:
Ultrasound guided cortisone injections for bursae and soft tissue i.e.:
  • Subacromial bursa
  • Greater trochanter bursa
  • Pes anserine bursa
  • Olecranon bursa
  • Prepatella bursa
  • Iliotibial band friction syndrome
  • Ganglion/Bakers cyst aspiration/Injection
  • Carpal tunnel injection
  • Trigger finger injection
  • Plantar fasciitis injection
  • De Quervain’s tenosynovitis injection

Spinal injections:
Spinal injections are used to inject medications into the painful/injured area of the spine. Spinal injections can be used to diagnose (diagnostic) the cause of pain as well as treat (therapeutic) it.  There are different types of spinal injections, often referred to as spinal blocks. Medications are injected into different segments of your spinal column such as the epidural space, intervertebral space, nerve roots or facet joints, depending on your condition.
In a diagnostic block, only a contrast agent along with a local anaesthetic is used to determine the source of pain.  In therapeutic blocks, a contrast agent, local anaesthetic, and steroid are injected to reduce the pain and inflammation.
Spinal injections are usually performed under X-ray (fluoroscopy) guidance. This helps in accurate positioning of the needle. During this procedure, a local anaesthetic is injected around the affected region to produce numbness. This is followed by the injection of a contrast material to delineate the structures in and around your spine. Then a steroid is injected to reduce inflammation and decrease your pain. Once injected into the affected region, the medication travels through the entire length of the spine to coat the nerve roots and the lining of the facet joints. The affected region becomes numb, often relieving pain.
Before your injection, an allergy testing may be required to check if you are allergic to the contrast agent.
