Dr. Kashyap is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist practising in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Dr. Kashyap’s philosophy supports natural labour as much as possible while having the skills and experience to cope with any emergency or complication that may arise.

Background and Training

Graduating in medicine from Monash University in 1989, he commenced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1995 at the Royal Women’s Hospital, continuing his training at the National Maternity Hospital in Holles St, Dublin, and at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, Victoria. Dr. Kashyap commenced private practice after receiving his specialist qualifications in April 2001.

Experience

Dr. Kashyap offers a full range of obstetric care including VBAC (vaginal birth after previous caesarean) and vaginal delivery of twins. You can be secure that if complications arise requiring admission at a tertiary hospital he will continue your care at Jessie MacPherson Private Hospital. He also offers general gynaecology care including laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Kashyap was on the organising committee of the RANZCOG conference in Melbourne and also lectures and mentors Monash University students.

Having managed thousands of pregnancies, ranging from normal to extremely complicated, Dr. Kashyap continues to maintain a commitment at Monash Medical Centre as the Topaz Obstetric Unit team leader. As part of his commitment to promoting vaginal birth he has run the ECV (External Cephalic Version) clinic at Monash for the last 10 years. He is a consultant to the Victorian PERS (perinatal emergency referral service).

The team of medical professionals at Monash Obstetrics are all committed to one to one obstetric care. Patients who choose full private care are seen by their chosen obstetrician over 90% of the time. This obstetrician will then manage their labour and delivery any time, day or night, including weekends and public holidays. In the rare instance where a patients obstetrician is not available, one of the other specialist obstetricians in our team will attend to your needs.
